The BOB Kinderland Train
You might already have spotted the Kinderland Train of the BOB. It is part of the new brand concept “Kinderland Bayern” for holidaymakers that was launched by the Bayern Tourism Marketing GmbH (BayTM). The Kinderland Train resulted from a common venture of BEG, BOB and BayTM. It is the aim of BayTM to optimise services for holidaymakers with children and to label children friendly undertakings, locations, villages and regions by the “Kinderland Bayern” brand. To travel by train is part of the brand philosophy.
Colourful handholds, secured mains plugs, a table top with a train scene, painting books that are distributed by the train conductors and a very special interior and exterior design differentiate the Kinderland Train from other trains of the BOB. Posters in the passenger compartments indicate other Kinderland activities.
The Kinderland Train runs within the routine operation of the BOB plus it is used for all sorts of events, e. g. extra tours within the Kinderland promotion programme. Kinderland Train tours are announced through the press, in our newsletter BOBExpress and here on our homepage.
The Kinderland Train became officially inaugurated on February 17, 2003 by Otto Wiesheu, Bavarian Minister of Transport by handing over the Kinderland tag to Heino Seeger, Managing Director of the BOB.
